Mergantex Cotton Factory

AS Steel has been involved in the construction of a large-scale cotton-textile campus project in the Bukhara region of Uzbekistan, realized with an investment of 22 million dollars and equipped with modern technologies. The facility, built on an area of 25,000 m², was constructed using steel frame and sandwich panel systems. The facility, which became operational in 2021, has reached an annual cotton processing capacity of 30,000 tons and achieved 6 million dollars in exports.

The project was completed with a fast and sustainable construction process, thanks to the use of prefabricated structural elements. The facility has created employment for 880 people and made significant contributions to the regional economy. In the future, with an additional investment of 25 million dollars, the project aims to transition into ready-made garment production, which is expected to increase the annual export volume to 30 million dollars and create 1,000 additional jobs.
